Succulent Love!

Time for another style lounge installment as featured by Save The Date Magazine yesterday!

If, like me, you enjoy reading some of the gorgeous American wedding blogs like Style Me Pretty and Green Wedding Shoes, you will have noticed a massive trend over the last few years toward using lots of natural elements and textured foliage in bouquets and arrangements. I think we are definitely going to see more of this over here as brides become a bit more daring in their flower and style choices.

The use of succulents in particular is becoming very popular as an accent in both rustic and glamorous wedding styles alike. The perfect choice for adding variety and gorgeous texture to your arrangements.
Here I've used succulents with vibrant coral and pink peonies, roses, dahlias and thistles to create relaxed and informal arrangements perfect for a garden wedding...

Why not try an alternative table linen such as hessian and rustic wooden boxes for your centrepieces to compliment this outdoor country style!
Alternatively, these succulents which have been sprayed silver would be perfect with white roses for a contemporary winter wedding...

Use silvered vases and votives with crisp white linens and geometric table runner designs for a luxurious and stylish celebration.

If you’re looking for a touch of Hollywood glamour why not try gilded succulents with lavish arrangements of gold and white flowers with elegant silvery foliage...perfectly glam!

They are even perfect for the groom who’s looking for something a bit different!

Will you be brave enough to try these out? Go on, do something out of the ordinary!!

Valerie & Richard's Spring Wedding...

Earlier this year I had such a lovely time providing flowers for Valerie and Richard's Spring wedding. Valerie chose gorgeous lemon yellow and white roses, peonies, freesias, veronica and wax flower for her bouquet which had a beautifully fresh 'just picked from the garden' look to it. They married at their local church and held their reception at Sutton Bonnington Hall. Their photographer Martin Neeves sent over these lovely images...

The sun shone and they had a beautiful day! Looking at the grey clouds outside the window right now makes me wish it was Spring again!! Have a great day and don't get wet!x

1920's Glitz & Glam!

Another installment of floral and style trends!

This year it’s been all about vintage wedding style in all its glory! With next year’s release of ‘The Great Gatsby’ film and the popularity of dramas such as ‘Downton Abbey’, I think we are going to see a growing trend towards beautifully romantic 1920’s inspired wedding details. The old world glamour of this kind of literature and cinematography is truly stunning...from rich fabrics and gorgeous laces to ornate hair accessories, flapper dresses and beaded gowns. It’s all about the glitz and glamour!

To achieve this style, why not take a look at a gorgeous Jenny Packham gown...

Or be inspired by Kate Moss’s stunning John Galliano gown...

The 1920’s was all about accessories...gorgeous headbands or veils like this one...

For beautiful bespoke vintage accessories why not take a look at local designer Sheena Holland.
When it comes to planning your wedding flowers, why not add some feathers, crystals or vintage accessories to your bouquet?

I think this look has become much softer and whimsical, moving away from the traditional blacks, reds and silvers of the art deco era towards lovely soft romantic tones...think creams, soft pinks and peach with accents of pearl, metallics and gold. For your decor and centrepieces why not be a bit daring and have soft coloured sumptuous tablecloths and create a dreamy centrepiece with aged mercury glass or silver containers, vintage style crystal and lots of candlelight

Jade & Will's vintage wedding!

The minute I met Jade I knew I couldn't wait to help her with her day! Jade had so many beautiful ideas and was concerned about every little detail...my dream client! She & Will married at their local church in the gorgeous village of Cranford St John and followed with a marquee reception in the grounds of her family home. Everything about their day went perfectly and it was so obvious that they enjoyed every minute of it! It was also another chance to work with some of my favourite suppliers...beautiful stationary by Dottie Creations and the most incredible cakes and desserts by Katie at Couture Cakes. Thanks to Steve Rideout for these gorgeous images...visit his blog and see the full wedding!

Doesn't she look stunning?!

Katie's cakes are a work of art...

I used these gorgeous protea and vintage tone roses to accent the cake display...perfect!

What a gorgeous day...thanks so much Jade & Will for letting me be part of your day! I wish you all the happiness in the world for your future together!
